Yamunotri Temple is located in a narrow gorge close to the source of the Yamuna River. Yatris reach the temple by trekking 6 km from Janki Chatti (approx. 3-4 hours walk). The location features natural hot springs of Surya Kund where rice is cooked in the boiling water as a holy Prasad offering to the Goddess.
