Kedarnath Dham
"One of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, situated near Mandakini river source."
π Pilgrimage Guide
Kedarnath Temple is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in India. Surrounded by snow-covered mountains, reaching the shrine requires a 16 km trek from Gaurikund, which can be done on foot, pony, palanquin, or via the shuttle helicopter service. Due to high altitudes, oxygen levels are lower, so yatris are advised to walk slowly and carry essential mountain wear.
π Highlights & Holy Rituals
- βAttend the legendary evening Shiva Aarti inside the temple
- βObserve the massive Bhim Shila stone behind the shrine which protected it in 2013
